Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

This Israeli drama is based on the complex novel of love, obsession, and politics by Amos Oz, one of Israel's foremost authors. The protagonist is Ilana a beautiful divorcee. Though she and ex-husband Alex, an internationally recognized scholar, split up seven years ago, she still carries his torch. That she has since remarried and has a daughter, she cannot get Alex out of her heart. He lives in London. They share an adolescent son who keeps running away in search of independence. The divorce was hard on him. Using flashback and narration, Ilana compares and contrasts her two marriages. Life with Alex was passionate; they lived on a beautiful estate. Life with new husband Sommo is tepid at best. For some reason Alex's lawyer and Sommo try to keep Alex and Ilana at odds.
