Synopsis by Janiss Garza
In this silent melodrama, a miner (John Lehnberg) goes into partnership with an Easterner (Robert Whittier), and together they make a strike. But the Easterner registers it under his own name and steals away back East with the miner's wife (Kathryn Adams) and her child (Tula Belle). Years later, the miner tracks the two down and steals back his kid (now played by Madeline Fairbanks). A fever erases her memory of the past, so the miner raises her without telling her anything about her mother. The Easterner is caught robbing his bank's depositors and goes to jail. The wife, who is in need of work, winds up coming to the miner's home and becoming a housekeeper there. The miner keeps her from revealing her identity to her daughter. The Easterner escapes from jail and goes to the home of the miner. He tries to get money from him and the wife but is shot by the police.
