Bird by Bird With Annie: A Film Portrait of Writer Anne Lamott profiles the writer's writer Anne Lamott, author of fiction and of the celebrated writer's self-help book Bird by Bird. The documentary follows rare spirit Anne Lamott for one year of writing and living, chaos and craft. Along the way, she raises her son, attends church, confides her weaknesses, and empathizes with struggling writers. With a sense of humor and a writer's flair, Lamott discusses weighty things, including her bout with alcoholism and her decision to keep her baby.
