Synopsis by John Patrick Sheehan

At the age of thirteen, she married O. V. "Mooney" Lynn, and by the time she was fourteen she had her first child, Betty Sue. By age eighteen, the Lynn's had another three babies, and Loretta's fondness for singing to them inspired Mooney to buy his wife her first guitar. By the mid-1960s, Lynn was the most popular female country singer in the U.S. and had a string of hits, including "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)" and "Don't Come Home a Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind)." "Coal Miner's Daughter" became Lynn's signature song, as well as the title of her best-selling autobiography and an Oscar-winning movie about her life, starring Sissy Spacek.
