Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This video presents the story of Anne and Charles Lindbergh. Charles became a hero when he flew across the Atlantic, and Anne accompanied him on later trips. Their love kept them afloat in a sea of controversy, when he spoke out against American involvement in WWII, but their private tragedy -- the kidnapping and murder of their son -- was grist for the public thirst for sensationalism. They became recluses together. Archival film clips and interviews with friends and family, including daughter Reeve Lindbergh, give insight into the real people behind the barrage of publicity.
