Synopsis by Alice Duncan
Award-winning journalist Bill Moyers has been called "a unique voice, still seeking new frontiers in television, daring to assume that viewing audiences are willing to think and learn." In this documentary, Moyers takes a thoughtful look at the recovery process of seven African-American men who are working to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. Members of a support group in California, the men discuss the issues they are facing: their concerns about their families, their work and accomplishments, the effects of racism on their lives, the struggles they encounter, and their hopes and feelings of self-worth.
