Synopsis by Sean Hurley

The award-winning Bilingual Baby series is geared for children ages one to five, and utilizes the Total Immersion Method of language training, a widely used technique which presents the material exclusively in the language being taught. Experts agree that language acquisition is at its highest during these first years of brain development and that the acquisition of one non-native language can facilitate the acquisition of additional languages throughout life. The series seeks to take advantage of this period of flexibility, teaching the child upwards of 60 words and phrases. In addition to learning the meaning and pronunciation of the words, large subtitles appear onscreen to help the child develop reading skills in the chosen language. Small English subtitles appear, allowing the parent to follow along. Bilingual Baby: French introduces a variety of age-appropriate French words and phrases.
