In the first of eight Big Dan Northwest melodramas, mounted police officer Big Dan Marvin John Lowell) goes in search of the smugglers who killed one of his colleagues. The trail leads straight to Kewatin, where saloon hostess Idaho Ida (Kitty Edwards) is selling contraband liquor from her back room. Another colleague of Dan's, Allan Colebrooke (George Grossman), arrives with the news had he has become engaged to Dan's girlfriend Jean (Dakota Lawrence). That fact, however, doesn't prevent the scoundrel from also courting Idaho Ida, whom he tries to protect in the climactic struggle.
