Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The Bollywood opus Bhale Dongalu - with its close parallels to Shaad Ali Sahgal's 2005 Bunty Aur Babli) - concerns two young people, Jyoti (Ileana) and Ramu (Tarun), who attempt to realize their dreams of high-profile careers in modeling and business by running away to the big city. Once there, the newcomers fall on their faces, are conned out of every last cent, and must eventually resort to under-the-table wheeling, dealing and conning themselves, in order to stay afloat; in the process, they also change their names to Romeo and Juliet, en homage to Shakespeare's doomed lovers. A shot at redemption arrives in the form of a female orphan in desperate need of life-saving surgery, for whom the couple attempt to raise necessary funds. They fail to count, however, on the arrival of a series of villains including an Indian mafioso and drug-pusher named Veeraraju (Pradeep Rawat).
