Synopsis by Sally Barber
In Beyond the Ring of Fire, Lawrence Blair recreates his original 2500-mile Indonesian odyssey taken eight years earlier with brother Lorne through remote and dangerous lands. Blair revisits several of the Asian islands explored in the initial ten-year long expedition. The return journey takes viewers to New Guinea, Timor, Tanimbar, and the Spice islands where Blair visits monkey forests, headhunter tribes, and intriguing villages. Footage depicts giant eels in their undersea gardens, giant bats, and a host of other mysterious creatures. The expedition portrays this South Pacific world as it is slowly being infiltrated by the modern world.
