Synopsis by Mark Deming
This documentary, narrated by Sir John Mills, looks back at the history of the British film industry, and features clips from many of the most memorable films to come from England, beginning with 1933's The Private Life Of Henry VIII and following through to the mid-1980s, with emphasis on some of the great stars of the United Kingdom, including Charles Laughton, Laurence Olivier, Vivian Leigh and Robert Donat.
