Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Berglagsfolk (People of Berglagsen) benefits immensely from the charm and appeal of its stars, Karin Ekelund and Sten Lindgren. Ekelund is cast as Karin Lovenskold, the sweetheart of gentleman farmer Bertil Akerman. Thanks to the intervention of her social-climbing parents, Karin is nearly consigned to a marriage with a charming scoundrel. Despite opposition from everyone around them, Karin and Bertil are reunited in the final footage. An amusing fable (Moral: Appearances Aren't Everything), Bergslagsfolk was well received by critics all over the world, though American reviewers carped about the film's "excessive" 80-minute length.
