Synopsis by Jinko Labitag
After surviving World War I, poet Siegfried Sassoon (Jack Lowden) becomes a vocal critic of the government’s continued support for armed conflict. He publishes works inspired by his experiences on the battlefield, and they quickly become revered within the aristocracy and literary circles. As he gains popularity, he begins to jump from lover to lover in an attempt to come to terms with his homosexuality. When this proves ineffective, he decides to find salvation in marriage and religion. Written and directed by Terence Davies.
