Synopsis by Janiss Garza

By keeping the plot relatively simple, this drama of the Alaskan gold fields was a cut above the average programmer of its ilk. Kansas farmer Wade Harkin (Noah Beery) and his wife Ruth (Jane Novak) sell their belongings and head for the gold fields. But Harkin deserts Ruth in Seattle and goes alone to Alaska. While working in a restaurant, Ruth meets gambler Lucky Vail (J. Frank Glendon) and his "lady friend," the notorious Chicago Belle (Florence Carpenter). When Ruth is attacked by the lecherous Dugan (Leslie Bates), she shoots him in self defense. Afraid that she will be arrested for murder, she embarks for Alaska, but the ship is wrecked. Ruth is the only survivor, and since Chicago Belle had also been on board, she takes the woman's name. Up in Alaska, she encounters Harkin, but she knows that Vail also loves her. The two men battle for her love, but a mysterious bullet kills Harkin, leaving Ruth free to marry Vail.
