Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Lebanese director Samir Habchi takes the viewer on a pulsating journey through the Beruit underworld in this period drama set at the peak of the Syrian occupation of Lebanon, and following a fearless Egyptian journalist on his quest to expose the brutal interrogation techniques used on outspoken political dissidents. As the authorities close in on him, a recently married Lebanese man is accidentally shot and killed by the overzealous bodyguards of the U.S. ambassador. While it first appears that the two events are completely unrelated, shadows quickly part to reveal a decidedly darker truth.
