This film is part of a series that surveys battles, wars, and revolutions that changed the course of Western civilization. This episode focuses on the Punic Wars, which were three wars that took place over more than a century, from 264-146 B.C., between Rome and Carthage. In the end, Rome prevailed, while Carthage was completely destroyed. The documentary features an ambitious reconstruction of the famous journey through the Alps by Hannibal.
