Vanderveer is a highly awarded coach and player. After playing as a starting guard for the University of Indiana and obtaining a master's degree from Ohio State, she moved into the ranks of coaching. She worked her way through the ranks, netting several league championships, until finally settling at Stanford University. While at Stanford, Vanderveer has grabbed a national championship and several coach of the year awards. She also led the U.S. Women's National and Olympic teams to a combined 60-0 record and several gold medals. To say the least, Vanderveer is one of the all-time best coaches. Any aspiring coach or inspired player should look into the wisdom of the game that Vanderveer so eagerly dishes out.
