Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The scene is a tumbledown farm, overrun with lazy, unproductive livestock and mischievous mice. Rousing himself from his ennui, the farmer hire a pair of saxophone-playing vagabonds named Tom and Jerry (not the cat-and-mouse duo) to galvanize the barnyard animals and scare off the rodents. The two new farmhands not only persuade the hens and ducks to lay thousands of eggs and the cows to give gallons of milk (already neatly bottled), but soon they have the whole farm singing and dancing (including the inaminate farm machinery!). The musical score for this vintage Van Beuren cartoon includes "The Old Oaken Bucket" and Irving Berlin's "I Want to Get Back to Michigan".
