Synopsis by Mark Deming

A serial killer appears to be symbolically preying on all the worst aspects of contemporary South Korean culture in this deliberately outrageous satire from filmmakers Kim Gok and Kim Sun. A madman wearing a gasmask and a mysterious costume is leaving a trail of bodies in his wake, and several people are eager to put him away before he can get to them. Muki (Liu Jang) is a young woman with lycanthrope tendencies who is the leader of a hipster suicide cult. Patrick (Patrick Smith) is an overzealous American serviceman who is out for revenge after the Gas Mask killer took the life of his Korean girlfriend. Ju Sanggeun (Yeong-jin Jo) is an ambitious politician who wants to be mayor of Seoul and thinks the killer is after him. And Bosik (Ji-hwan Park) is an ordinary policeman who imagines he's actually a hero with super powers. Can any of them find the killer before he attacks again . . . assuming he really exists? Bangdokpi (aka Anti Gas Skin) was an official selection at the 2010 Venice Film Festival.
