This 30-minute cartoon was originally the fifth episode of the animated TV series Mapletown. Based on a popular Tonka toy line, the series features an aggregation of cute 'n' cuddly anthropomorphic animals, living in a vaguely European community sometime in the 1920s. The overall ambience of the series can be gathered by the character names, which include Mrs. Raccoon, Bobby Bear, Patty Rabbit, Mayor Lion, Funny Fox and Susie Squirrel. After all this syrup, the villainous Wild Wolf is a real breath of fresh air. Janice Adams appears as Mrs. Maple in the series' live-action wraparounds. Baby Comes to Mapletown was originally syndicated to American TV outlets in the spring of 1987.
