Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Using largely the same cast and crew from the Bombay Talkies studio as Franz Osten's numerous works, N.R. Acharya makes his directorial debut with this socially aware melodrama about the institution of marriage. The film centers on three friends from college -- the career-minded Jagdish, the traditionalist Loknath, and the progressive-thinking Vijay. The three have sharply different views on marriage, which eventually drives a wedge between them. One day, Vijay rescues a lovely young lass from an ugly situation and soon marries her -- instead of submitting to his parents' idea of a suitable mate. Years later, Vijay's son rescues Jagdish's daughter from another ugly situation and marries her, ending the trio's feud.
