Four short documentaries about women's issues in the Third World are featured in this anthology feature. Effort For Love concerns two women from Java who have traveled to Hong Kong in search of work to support their families. One has found love with a man she's met and is filled with conflicting emotions, while the other is fearful of visiting a professional gynecologist for the first time. Miss, Mrs? was shot in Jakarta and focuses on women's heath care -- in a place where women are allowed to dress and act as if they're living in the 21st Century, the attitudes of doctors towards their female patients is often backwards and judgmental. What's The Point is an expose on female circumcision in Indonesia, and why this brutal practice, rejected in most of the world, is still common there. And Our Children's Fund profiles a number of working mothers who labor part time as prostitutes because it's the only job open to women in Eastern Java that pays enough to support a family. Many of these women literally moonlight, working in the evenings and taking their clients to a cemetery that has become a common location for the local sex trade. At Stake was an official selection at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival.
