Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

This documentary by West German director Wolfgang Dobrowolny was filmed in Poona, India at the religious center of Guru Bhagavan Sri Rajneesh just before the Guru fled to the United States and set up his colony in central Oregon -- and long before the colony fled central Oregon, leaving 23 luxury cars behind in the rush. Dobrowolny himself was a follower of the Indian guru, which is how the documentary got started in 1978. The documentary records interviews with the cult leaders and practitioners and some of the activities that go on during "therapies" and meditations.
