Directed by Junic Watanabe, Ariel centers around Dr. Kishida's desperate effort to create a megarobot capable of defending the earth from alien intruders. His final creation, known as Ariel, is a highly advanced combat android with one drawback--neither of Dr. Kishida's granddaughters are willing to pilot "her", citing that they were too busy studying for their college entrance exams. Luckily, the invaders' plan is temporarily curtailed due to financial complications, and during the pause, Kishida's granddaughter Aya has a sudden change of priorities. With Ariel in the air and Aya to guide her, it looks like the earth may have a chance at survival.
