Synopsis by Alice Day

Some of the most innovative designs in the world have been the work of Sir Richard Rogers and his architectural group. He and his former associate Sir Norman Foster are responsible for many of the buildings that define modern architecture. When the Pompidou Centre in Paris was completed, there were many detractors who were critical of its unique, open design and color elements. The Lloyd's Insurance building in London is another example of his forward-looking concepts. Rogers shares some of his opinions with viewers in Architecture in Profile: Sir Richard Rogers as he talks about urban structures.
