Synopsis by Tracie Cooper
Originally recorded at the famous Metropolitan Opera House in 1994, Strauss's Arabella centers around the title character's initial inability to choose a suitor. Under the direction of conductor Christian Thielemann, Kiri Te Kanawa plays the part of Arabella, alongside co-stars Wolfgan Brendel, Marie McLaughlin, and Otto Schenk.
