Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

A medical student returns to visit her mother in Calcutta. This intense Indian drama chronicles their conversations. The student, Aditi is a medical student who has fallen in love. Her mother Sarojini is a noted dancer and is preparing to receive an important prize. Adititi spent most of her childhood at a boarding school and doesn't know much about her parents, particularly her father who died when she was young. The girl is still obsessed with the loss and as the anniversary of his death (the title date) approaches, she becomes increasingly despondent, something her mother fails to notice, as she is caught up in the brouhaha surrounding the award. A tragedy catches the mother's attention and finally mother and daughter make their peace.
