Synopsis by Sean Hurley

In tape one of this five-volume series, Apocalypse: Revelations for a New Millennium, creators Weick and Andriotto begin their journey into this deeply rooted concept with a visit to the island of Patmos in Greece. It was here that the Christian concept of the apocalypse was born when the Apostle John transcribed his vision that would become the Book of Revelation. Weick and Andriotto follow the story as it leads them to the monasteries of Europe where an understanding of apocalypse as personal renewal informs important rites. Weick and Andriotto employ images and sound to juxtapose the isolation willingly endured by these monks against the alienation of life in the modern world.
