Synopsis by Steve Blackburn
Hosted by Annie Getchell, this video features episode 11 from the first season of the award-winning PBS television series. In this installment naturalist Tim McNulty and canopy ecologist Nalini Nadkarni join host Getchell in a tour of Washington's Hoh River Rain Forest, the wettest place in the lower 48 states. How wet is it? The average annual precipitation here is 133.58 inches, or more than 11 feet. McNulty and Nadkarni explain the workings of the rain forest, which is home to abundant flora and fauna, including hemlock, maple trees, and moose.
