Synopsis by Nathan Southern
Cutting beyond rhetoric, beyond polemic, beyond ideological and political preconceptions, writer/director André-Line Beauparlant's documentary Antlers etches out multilayered and deeply human biographical portraits of six professional moose hunters. The men in question ply their trade outside of Abitibi in the Canadian province of Quebec; Beauparlant witnesses them in action and has each wax confessional and intimate on his feelings about not only hunting, but love, sex, death, religion, politics, and much more.
