Synopsis by Hal Erickson
From Jim Henson Productions, the daily, half-hour children's series Animal Jam combined the standard Henson muppetry with live-action footage of genuine animals. The series was hosted by a trio of cloth creations: Edi the Zebra, Bozark Animal Jam Superstar (an elephant), and Waffle the Cow Monkey (not a combination cow and monkey, but a monk who yearned to be a cowboy). The series' aim was to teach kids about movement and nature, both with images of animals in the wild and with newly fabricated song-and-dance sequences. Animal Jam debuted on February 24, 2003, as part of The Learning Channel's early-morning "Ready Set Learn" lineup.
