Synopsis by Alice Day
Before the establishment of Shaka as ruler of the Zulu people, they were made up of many separate groups. After Shaka organized the various clans, he drilled them in military discipline and weapon-handling. Under his leadership, the Zulus emerged as a supreme fighting force, taking on the British, who were threatening to overtake their territories. Ancient Tribes: The Zulus looks at the enormous influence of King Shaka, who, in a short time, was able to transform the Zulus into a strongly disciplined group of warriors.
