Synopsis by Hal Erickson

On this cable-TV documentary series, contemporary forensic detectives unearthed and analyzed archeological evidence left behind by ancient civilizations. Using the latest technology, the modern-day sleuths tried to separate fact from legend in recounting the lives of long-ago citizens, often finding out that most legends are firmly based in fact. The opening episode diligently reconstructed the life of controversial Biblical figure Mary Magdalene, with newly found documents suggesting that she was rather more than the redeemed prostitute depicted in the Gospels. Ancient Evidence debuted October 1, 2003.
