An unusual woman attracts an equally atypical stalker in this offbeat thriller from Romania. Ana (Anca Florea) is a well-respected composer whose work combines industrial noise-making with conventional symphonic elements. Ana suffers from a severe form of asthma and rarely leaves her apartment, which is kept spotlessly clean and well ventilated. Outside of her friend Kate (Emily Daller), Ana has few social contacts, so it comes as something of a surprise when she receives a DVD in the mail containing footage of her at home, working and relaxing. Ana is more intrigued than alarmed, but when she notices wall posters clearly addressed to her in her rare trips outside her flat, she begins to wonder about her secret admirer, and her puzzlement grows when he sends her a particularly extravagant gift -- a harpsichord. Ana files a complaint with the police about the stalker, but against their advice arranges to meet the man, only to be taken against her will to a strange private hospital where she's given drugs and held captive. Ingerul Necesar (aka An Angel Hooked On Me) was the first feature film from writer and director Gheorghe Preda.
