Synopsis by Alice Day
The extraordinary adaptability of green toads is discussed in this program and their survival skills in temperature extremes are seen. Amphibians: The Green Toad provides a look at the habitat range of this small amphibian, who generally reaches only two inches in length. It can live in the hot, dry environment of the Sahara and other desert regions, and also in the harsh cold of the Himalayan mountains. Despite large numbers of eggs produced, only a small percentage actually survive to the toad stage. The importance of preserving the habitats of amphibian species is stressed in this series.
