Synopsis by Alice Day
This group of programs features the characteristics and habitats of several species of amphibians, and discusses the delicate ecological balance that insures their survival. This balance is in danger of being upset, and biologists are on hand to talk about the diminishing numbers of some species and the efforts made in preserving their environments. Amphibians: The Common Toad & the Natterjack Toad looks at the natterjack, whose versatile skin layer enables it to both survive and defend itself. The series is aimed at high school and college-level students.
