This ten-part PBS series examines the constantly shifting social, political, and economic forces at work in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean basin. Viewers are taken behind the scenes to gain a historical perspective on the turmoil that has developed in these countries. Experts share their opinions on how leaders might better manage the unique challenges they encounter as they govern their diverse citizenry. This episode explores how different types of terrorist threats leveled at the Americas and in Columbia, Jamaica, and Panama are affecting these countries. Efforts to combat these threats are closely examined. An additional segment addresses various national sovereignty issues challenging the Americas.
