Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The 315-mile-long Hudson River was the "star" of this two-part PBS series. Host/narrator Bill Moyers detailed the river's important role as a rallying point for conservationists of the past and environmentalists of the present. Also chronicled was the ongoing battle between public and private interests in the harnessing of the river's natural powers and gifts. Episode titles included "Stories of the Hudson" and "The Fight to Save the River." America's First River: Bill Moyers on the Hudson was originally telecast on April 23 and 24, 2002.
