Synopsis

Conclusion. In "The Fight to Save the River," host Bill Moyers examines efforts by environmentalists to clean up the Hudson since the 1960s, from stopping construction of a power plant at Storm King Mountain to battling GE over PCB dredging (ex-GE chairman Jack Welch gives the company's side). "If there's hope for the human race, there's hope for the Hudson," folksinger Pete Seeger said in 1966 as he launched the sloop Clearwater. It has inspired environmentalists along the river ever since.
