Synopsis by Nathan Southern
The documentary American Assassin: Lee Harvey Oswald Behind The Iron Curtain capitalizes on a little-known series of episodes tied to Kennedy assassin Oswald's activity in the late 1950s. In 1959, it seems, American Marine Oswald defected to Minsk, Russia, where he participated in a shady and clandestine series of Cold War activities, then promptly fled Soviet shores. American Assassin utilizes extensive footage, shot in Minsk, to help relay this seldom-told story - and thus sheds a new and disturbing light on the events that transpired in Dallas in November 1963.
