Synopsis by Kathryn Tamms

In this fourth and most recent volume in the America By Rail series, viewers climb on board the Southwest Chief as it makes its way from Chicago to Los Angeles. The scenery is spectacular as the train races through America's heartland from the skyscrapers of the Windy City to the farms of the Great Plains, and then over the southern Rocky Mountains and through the beautiful Southwest. Viewers enjoy the view from the sightseer lounge and eat a relaxing dinner in the diner before retiring to the private bedroom. Stops along the way include steam and diesel tourist railroads, as well as the Dwight D. Eisenhower museum, Dodge City, old Santa Fe, and the Grand Canyon.
