The third of Hong Kong producer Raymond Wong's all-star New Year's romps continues to invite comparisons to such films as Cannonball Run with more broad slapstick and dozens of familiar faces who all seem to be having a better time making the film than audiences have watching it. This time around, Old Fei (Wong) and Little Fei (Francis Ng) decide to play a trick on their lazy brother Kung (Stephen Chiau) by fooling him into believing that he has won $31 million in the lottery. Kung gets revenge after bumping his head, however, by convincing his brothers that he is now retarded and needs their constant care and supervision. Numerous subplots run through the film for no good reason except providing more opportunities for celebrity cameos: Kung's beloved Suen (Christy Chung) is pulling the retardation stunt on her own family in order to protect her mother from golddiggers (including Kung's father), Little Fei ignores the sweet Shenny (Jacqueline Wu) in favor of a dangerous biker chick (Amanda Lee), Old Fei's ugly wife Yinsu (Christine Ng) goes after a young photographer (Emil Chow), and so on. Director Alfred Cheung appears as a mental patient, the cast includes dozens of familiar faces such as Roy Chiao, Gigi Lai, and -- just as in the aforementioned Cannonball Run -- there's a reel of bloopers under the closing credits showing the cast enjoying itself even more.
