Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Believe it or not, there were several silent films which dealt with the trials and tribulations of musicians. One such was the British All the Sad World Needs. Lennox Pawle (most fondly remembered for his portrayal of the child-like Mr. Dick in the 1935 version of David Copperfield) plays a stone-broke violinist who pins his hopes on his latest composition. Alas, Pawle's work is plagiarized by craven concertina player Lauri de Freece, who rides to fame as a result. Joan Legge plays the violinist's daughter, who struggles to convince de Freece to confess the deception. All the Sad World Needs is sad, all right; whether or not the world truly needed it is best left to conjecture.
