The social and economic reasons behind such problems as drug addiction and AIDS for black men are explored in AIDS: The Street War. Two men who have recovered from long struggles with drug abuse, Lee Jenkins and Sterling White work with the Georgia Department of Human Resources to heighten awareness of those who might be more disposed toward these problems. Their unique experience gives them a better perspective on the issues that push segments of the population into substance abuse, and a lifestyle that makes them more vulnerable to the threat of AIDS.
