Synopsis by Tracie Cooper
Originally filmed at the Covent Garden, this Royal Opera production features noted soprano Cheryl Studer in the title role, and also includes Dennis O'Neill and Luciana d'Intino. Verdi's classic is performed as it was originally intended -- in the opera house rather than atop a Broadway stage -- and is complemented by music from the Royal Opera House Orchestra under the direction of conductor Edward Downes.
