Synopsis by Nathan Southern
As originally produced for Britain's ITV, the telemovie Agatha Christie's Marple: The Pale Horse (1960) is adapted from Christie's 1961 novel The Pale Horse, and once again features the author's popular female sleuth, Miss Jane Marple (Julia McKenzie) as the lead. The story finds Marple receiving an enigmatic list of names from her friend Father Gorman - moments before his brutal murder. Marple quickly concludes that other individuals on the list are dying rapidly, and a deeper investigation takes her to Hampshire, England's Pale Horse Inn - a facility that appears to be run by three witches. Co-stars include Pauline Collins, Bill Paterson and J.J. Field.
