Following an extended stay in Chicago, Poland native Franek (Ireneusz Czop) returns to the rural village where he was raised, and discovers that the ghosts of World War II still linger strong while reconnecting with his estranged brother Jozek (Maciej Stuhr), who has somehow incurred the wrath of the tight-knit community. Upon uncovering a secret that causes them to question everything they ever knew about their family and their homeland, Franek and Jozek are drawn to investigate a malevolent mystery that will forever alter their perceptions of the past.
