Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

B. R. Chopra directs this crime thriller about a pair of twins separated at birth. While Ratan (Ashok Kumar) is raised in an institution and eventually becomes a noted barrister, Chaman (Kumar again) gets adopted into a rich family and becomes a dissolute playboy. On the lam after getting framed for murder, Chaman runs into his long lost twin, and instead of the usual tearful reunion, drugs and beats his brother, assuming his identity. The ruse works for a while, Chaman loses the baddies only to die in a horrible car accident. As his feckless wife (Kuldeep Kaur) -- who is having an affair with a business partner -- grieves the death of Ratan, the real Ratan comes to with a nasty case of amnesia. With the help of his buddy Mohan (Pran) and his childhood sweetheart Meera (Veena Kumari), Ratan's memory returns just as his wife commits suicide following the bankruptcy of her illicit lover.
