Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
There are four separate stories in this anthology, titled "Love," "Trial Love," "Love" and "Broken Love." In the first episode, Zhu is a schoolteacher who carouses and gambles with his friends and tries to act out his sex fantasies. However, he falls in love with a proper schoolteacher, marries her, and temporarily gives up these behaviors. Some time later, he resumes them. In the second tale, an unmarried couple's cohabitation is a worry to their parents. The man proposes marriage, but his woman-friend refuses. Perhaps because the man is also quite jealous of the woman's exposure to men on the job, she puts him through a humiliating ordeal before accepting his marriage proposal. In the third episode, the "juice" has dried up in a married couple's relationship. Despite efforts to change things, neither partner is able to change the prison-like aura of their marriage. In the final episode, a friend is trying to help a divorced couple get back together. At first, lots of amorous confusion results, but they are eventually happily reunited.
