Synopsis by Robert Firsching
Odysseas Kosteletos directed this story of life, love, and death among a community of Greek gypsies. Gypsy leader Ziggos has died, and his handsome son, Vandar (pop star Tolis Voskopoulos), is chosen as the new leader. He's head over heels in love with the beautiful Maira (Dora Sitzani), but so is his rival, the treacherous Karatzae (Anestis Vlachos). A fervent, passionate tale of a steamy love triangle so intense as to end with death and tragedy, it may seem a bit overripe in places, but its colorful portrayals and excellent production design make it well worth suffering through a few florid declamations. Tonia Kaziani co-stars with Lavrentis Dianellos and Stathis Hadjipavlis.
